The 150th Open

The 150th Open - Old Course Packages

Be Part of History: Play the most popular course on The Open rota

Old Tom Morris could never have imagined what The Open would become when as one of the early pioneers he played in the 1st Championship in 1860, with a field of just eight players.

Now, 162 years and 149 Opens later, the Home of Golf will host The 150th Open at the Old Course, St Andrews. On what is sure to be a historic Open with record crowds, the world’s greatest players will descend on the world’s most famous Links to try and capture the Claret Jug.

The Open has been graced by golf’s greatest champions with St Andrews winners including Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods. The 10th - 17th July 2022 will mark the 30th time it has been played on the Old Course, a true celebration of The Open and the birthplace of the game.

As we begin the countdown to The 150th Open, golfers can join the celebrations here at the Home of Golf with a limited number of commemorative 150th Old Course packages for play in 2021.

The Claret Jug and Swilcan Bridge packages offer golfers a guaranteed time on the Old Course, official 150th Open merchandise, St Andrews Links Old Tom 200 Commemorative goodie bag, entry into The R&A World Golf Museum and a three-course lunch or dinner at the Tom Morris Bar & Grill.

The 150th Open - Prize Draw

Purchase a Claret Jug or Swilcan Bridge package for play in 2021 and you will be entered into an incredible prize draw for two people to return to St Andrews for The 150th Open in 2022.

The lucky winners will enjoy hospitality at The 150th Open, as guests of St Andrews Links Trust, watching all the action unfold during the final round at the Old Course. On Monday 18th July our winners will play golf at The Castle Course, honing their skills on the Links before tackling the Old Course the following day (Tuesday 19th July), less than 48 hours after the Champion Golfer of the Year has been crowned at the Home of Golf.
