Course information 2020

We would like to make you aware of  course information along with some changes that have taken effect as of  2020:

  • A new Local Rule will be introduced from 1 January 2020 where all artificially surfaced roads and paths will become immovable obstructions, therefore all players will be entitled to take free relief under Rule 16.1. This will apply to all courses with the exception of Grannie Clark’s Wynd crossing the 1st and 18th holes, as well as the road and path behind the 17th green on the Old Course, which will remain as integral parts of the course. In order to define ‘behind the 17th green’, two black and yellow posts have been erected on the corner (approx. 50 yards right of the green) and any ball on the road and path to the left of these posts will need to be played as it lies.

  • We are looking to encourage play from different tees and move away from the traditional ‘Mens’ and ‘Ladies’ teeing options. This will tie in well with the introduction of the new World Handicapping System later in 2020 and, in anticipation of this, all courses have been rated for Men and Women from each tee (up to 6200 yards for Women).

Throughout the first quarter of 2020, we will be introducing Back / Middle / Forward tees which may be used by any golfer. These will be coloured Black / Blue / Green and will hopefully encourage golfers to choose the tee that best suits their game.
