Home of Golf wins Scottish Thistle Tourism Award

St Andrews Links have won the Tourism - Everyone's Business Award, sponsored by Edinburgh Airport, at the Fife and Tayside Thistle Awards. The Scottish Thistle Awards, which are run by VisitScotland and celebrate excellence, innovation and success within the country’s hospitality and tourism sector.

The Links collected the “Tourism – Everyone’s Business Award” for Fife and Tayside and will now go to the National finals in March 2016 with regional winners from across Scotland. Previously known as “Our Warmest Welcome” the award celebrates partnerships, collaborations and team working with last night’s award recognising the diverse nature of the Links and the successful and continued commitment across the Links' seven courses, three clubhouses, five retail outlets and throughout all aspects of the business to provide best practice, customer service and drive to deliver memorable experiences to every person who visits the Home of Golf. Euan Loudon, chief executive St Andrews Links, said: "It is a great honour to receive this award amidst so many great tourism providers in Fife and Tayside. At the Home of Golf we care passionately about enhancing the reputation and renown of the world’s most famous Links and across our diverse business colleagues have embraced our ambition to deliver memorable experiences to the thousands of golfers and visitors we welcome each year. I would like to thank the team at the Links for their time and effort, which I am delighted to see recognised with this award.” As a regional winner in the Thistle Awards the Links will now go on to represent Fife and Tayside in the national Scottish Thistle Award final in March 2016, part of the Signature Programme of Scottish Tourism Week.
