Retail and Catering Outlets to Close for Winter Period

November 20 2020

St Andrews Links Trust has advised all Ticketholders that it will close its shops and catering outlets this winter – except the Old Pavilion, which will remain open for a takeaway snacks service.

Having worked so hard to provide a safe environment across the Links, we are saddened by this development, we are committed however to taking the additional measures necessary to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone in St Andrews and to play our part in minimising Covid-19 cases in the region.

The golf courses, Golf Academy, on-course and clubhouse toilets will remain open for community play where possible. As we progress through the winter months our operational capacity on the course will remain subject to regular review in line with Government guidance and Scottish Golf guidelines.

We will continue to share regular updates with Ticketholders as well as advising of any frost delays or weather related closures via the app, website and the Trust’s social media channels.

For golfers wishing to utilise our takeaway food and drink service at the Old Pavilion, short-term parking will be permitted in the turning circle at the rear of the building. Vehicles should not be left there during play on any of the golf courses. The takeaway service will be available at the Old Pavilion from Monday to Saturday between 8am and 12.30pm.

** Please note the Halfway House at The Castle Course will remain open until the course closes for the season on 29th November.**

Euan Loudon, Chief Executive, St Andrews Links Trust, said: “All of our courses, facilities and community of colleagues and golfers have faced unprecedented disruption over the course of this year. Through lockdown and our phased approach to re-opening we have been overwhelmed by the support and positivity of our Ticketholders and golfers across the country. We would like to thank everyone for their positive feedback and encouragement during these challenging times. We look forward to re-opening all of our retail and catering facilities in 2021, subject to government guidelines.

“For now, we hope golfers in Fife can continue to enjoy playing golf at the Links and would urge everyone to adhere to the guidance and help demonstrate that golf is acting responsibly and safely amidst the ongoing restrictions.”
