2020 Guidelines

November 20 2020

Our courses remain open for play offering the challenge of links golf in a safe environment for all ages and abilities.

Following on from the latest update from the Scottish Government (17 November), we would like to remind all golfers of the importance of adhering to the following guidance.

  • You should avoid travel to other areas regardless of their level unless essential.

  • For exercise/sport – there is an exemption, however, it is limited:

    • In Level 4, you are not permitted to drive outside your Local Authority area for exercise – you can cross boundaries in the process of exercising i.e if a golf course straddles two Local Authority area boundaries.

    • In Level 3 - You can travel anywhere within your local authority area to take part in sport. You may cross a local authority boundary by up to 5 miles if necessary, this includes where a golf course straddles two local authority areas. You can currently travel up to 5 miles into another local authority for sport where this is absolutely necessary and you cannot access the sport otherwise. If there is a more local option to play golf within your local authority area, this would be recommended as unnecessary travel is being actively discouraged.

    • In Levels 0-2 - Adults should, where possible, minimise unnecessary travel between areas and not travel to a Level 3 or 4.

  • All golfers should be aware of travel guidance outlined by the Scottish Government and this should always be followed.

  • Ticketholders should continue to book golf through the normal methods.

From the close of business on Friday 20th November we have taken the difficult decision to close our shops and catering outlets, with the exception of the Old Pavilion which will continue to offer a takeaway service (Mon-Sat 08:00 to 12:30).

** Please note the Halfway House at The Castle Course will remain open until it closes for the season on 29th November

We continue to undertake a number of measures to ensure the safety of our colleagues and golfers. We would like to thank you for your consistant co-operation and adherence to the current guidance and ask that you continue to play your part during these challenging times. Please help us in ensuring our courses and facilities can provide a safe environment at this time.
