Golf Reservations Terms & Conditions

  • Correspondence should be made by the designated lead golfer of the booking, whose name is on the original application and who is in receipt of the e-mail confirmation of tee times. 
  • All green fees are non-refundable. We strongly recommend that you arrange travel insurance to provide cover in the event that you are unable to play at your booked time or have to reduce the number of golfers once green fees are paid.
  • Golfers should be aware of the St Andrews Links Bad Weather Policy.
  • Fairway mats will be in use during the low season on all courses.

Payment Information

  • Failure to make the requested payment by the due date given in the provisional email will result in the booking being cancelled.
  • Payment should be made using the secure payment link on the email confirmation or by the lead golfer or lead correspondent, contacting the Reservations Department on + 44 1334 466718 during office hours. (third party payments will not be accepted).  For any international payments, please note that you may need to contact your bank to inform them of the payment before proceeding to use the payment link.
  • Once payment has been received, an official confirmation will be sent by e-mail which should be shown to the Starter on the day. 
  • Bookings made with St Andrews Links by individuals are VAT exempt, with the exception of   The Castle Course where VAT always applies.  VAT is payable on golf bookings not made by individuals e.g. by any third party or commercial concerns such as tour operators, hotels, corporate bookings etc.
  • All green fees are non-refundable. We strongly recommend that you arrange travel insurance to provide cover in the event that you are unable to play at your booked time or have to reduce the number of golfers once green fees are paid.
  • Please be aware that pre-paid green fees for any other course cannot be transferred as part payment for a successful ballot on the Old Course.

Making Changes (Old Course only)

  • The name of the lead golfer cannot change. 
  • For each tee time in a group booking, only one name can be changed free of charge in advance to the list of named golfers supplied to us on the original application form. The name change will apply over both courses for any two course package which includes the Old Course. Please note In High and Shoulder seasons there will be charges for more than one name change per tee time. See PATT terms and conditions for more information. 
  • For Single golfer packages the name cannot be changed from the named golfer supplied to us on the original application form.
  • For Old Course bookings - If a change of name is to be made, the lead golfer should email reservations@standrews.com  quoting the booking reference, the name of the golfer no longer playing, the replacement golfer’s name, home club and handicap. Any name changes apply over both courses and can be made up to 7 days before the first day of play.
  • Name changes for the Old Course are not permitted at any other time.

Adding Golfers

  • For Old Course bookings, if prior to payment you reduce the number of golfers in your party, no additions can be made at a later stage.
  • For Old Course bookings, in Shoulder and High Season please note, if you have been successful as a 2-ball, there will be no opportunity for you to add any golfers to your tee time and it is likely you will be joined with another 2-ball, either through the private advance application process or by golfers waiting on the day.
  • For Old Course bookings in Shoulder and High Season , bookings with 3 or more golfers may add to the empty slots within tee times allocated, up to 7 days in advance of play. If no golfers are added by this time, it is likely you will be joined by golfer/s waiting on the day.
  • For Old Course bookings in Low Season, bookings with 2 or more golfers may add to the empty slots within tee times allocated, up to 7 days in advance of play. If no golfers are added by this time, it is likely you will be joined by golfer/s waiting on the day.
  • To add golfers, the lead golfer should email reservations@standrews.com quoting the booking reference. For bookings that include the Old Course the additional golfer(s) name, home club and handicap details will also be required. The lead golfer will be responsible for payment of any additional golfer’s green fees. Payment must be made by telephone on + 44 1334 466718, as credit card details previously given cannot be accessed for security reasons.

Hire Items

  • Hire Clubs can be requested online for all courses once your booking has been confirmed. 
  • Trolleys are available for all courses but are subject to some restrictions at certain times on the Old Course.
  • A limited number of buggies are available on all courses but certain restrictions apply. If you wish to hire a buggy and meet the qualifying criteria, please contact reservations@standrews.com  so we can check availability for your tee time(s).

Caddies

  • Caddies can be requested online for all courses once your booking has been confirmed.

Pace of Play

  • In order to play on the Old Course, golfers require a Valid Handicap Certificate and must adhere to St Andrews Links Trust’s Pace of Play Policy.
  • The limit is 24 for men and 36 for ladies and juniors (15 years and under) and you should present your official handicap card/certificate to the Old Course Starter on the day.  A letter of introduction is not acceptable as proof of handicap.

Bad Weather

On the Day

  • For the Old Course, please check in for your round at least 20 minutes before your tee time at the Old Course Starter. For all other courses please check in with the starter at least 10 minutes before your tee time.
  • A copy of your official confirmation email and handicap should be shown to the Starter on the day.
  • In order to ensure it is the named golfers playing, please be aware that you may be asked for photo identification on the day of play at the Old Course Starter.

Yearly Ticket Purchases

Regarding the renewal of St Andrews Links Yearly Tickets and applicable to those who have renewed online: Please issue my Yearly Ticket as requested. I confirm that I have read and complied with the conditions of the ticket and that the address given is my main residence. I recognise that my Yearly Ticket may be withdrawn if I have misrepresented any information.
