St Andrews Links Trust would like to advise residents and visitors to St Andrews of Sunday play on The Old Course in 2013.
The Old Course hostsseveral annual events in the Links golfing calendar over the next few months, which require the course to be open for play on Sundays.
The limited Sunday openings will begin this weekend when the R&A Local Clubs Gold Medal takes place on May 19.
Further competitions are scheduled in June with the culmination of the St Rule Trophy on June 2 and the prestigious St Andrews Links Trophy on June 9.
This year in addition to the annual events The Old Course will also host Sunday play on 23 June with a special celebratory event to commemorate the University of St Andrews 600th anniversary as well as hosting the exciting final day of the Ricoh Women’s British Open on 4 August.
St Andrews Links Trust Director of Golf John Grant said: "We would like to advise golfers, residents and visitors alike of Sunday dates in 2013 when play will take place on The Old Course.
“The Old Course is extremely popular with walkers and visitors alike on Sundays and we would ask people to be aware that play will take place on the dates listed above. Visitors to the Links on these dates should refrain from walking across the course during play and adhere to the public footpaths as well as being aware that golf will be being played around them.
“We would like to thank the residents of St Andrews and visitors to the town in advance for their co-operation.”
