St Andrews Links Trust today (1 May) officially launched the first-ever phone app from the Home of Golf.
The app has been created by St Andrews Links to serve as the perfect companion for golfers at home and abroad who want to find out more about the world’s most famous Links.
With beautiful photography, status updates and weather information, the free app is designed to give golfers an insight into the very heart of the Home of Golf across all mobile platforms.
Alongside the app the new St Andrews Links website – www.standrews.com – goes live today and, like the app, gives golfers and visitors alike everything they need to know about the Home of Golf, whether they wish to play, learn, shop or relax in St Andrews.
The app and website have been designed to enhance any visit to the Home of Golf and thanks to support from St Andrews Links Global Partners, Allianz, offer practical help and advice for planning trips, including a full range of information on how to book golf at the seven St Andrews Links courses as well as weather and course updates.
Both the site and app boast exclusive digital content, including hole-by-hole guides and digital scorecards offering golfers the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of the Links. And before teeing it up at the Home of Golf golfers will also be able to access exclusive hints and tips on how to play links golf with European Ryder Cup Captain and Allianz ambassador Paul McGinley.

The website and app are part of our continued commitment to enhancing the experience of every single visitor through the use of innovation and excellence, qualities which are steeped in the Links’ 600 year history.
“When we embarked on this project we wanted to offer golfers and visitors a unique product and we could not have realised this ambition without the support of our global partners Allianz, who have been a huge source of support in terms of preparation, planning and promotion of St Andrews and the wider community on the app.
“The website and the app will act not just as a gateway to the Links but as a wider portal to St Andrews and what the surrounding area has to offer.
“We are very proud to launch the app and website today and believe we have delivered something that is truly unique and in keeping with the heritage of St Andrews Links and its status in the world of golf.”
Alongside the outstanding photography, history and detailed course information, the app and site support golfers wanting to develop their game at St Andrews Links Golf Academy as well as those looking to sample some of the treats available in any of the Links’ clubhouses and restaurants. It also helps those wanting to shop, either in person at any of the five shops or online via the website.
The website features a new series of blogs giving a unique insight into what is going on behind the scenes on a daily basis at St Andrews Links, all written by people working across all aspects of the Links day-to-day business.
